Trail Review - Little Wild Horse Road
Central Utah is home to many remote off road trails that are less traveled than many of the more popular ones in places like Moab. This doesn't make them any less challenging or scenic and just this last week we camped for three days on one of our favorite routes in Central Utah, Little Wild Horse Road. This route is easier than others but offers a true Overlanding experience.
Little Wild Horse Road
Length: 46 Miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Little Wild Horse Road is a remote 46 mile dirt road in Central Utah with scenic desert views of Factory Butte, Muddy Creek, and Goblin Valley. The route isn't particularity difficult but its remoteness is something you will want to consider when planning to travel Little Wild Horse Road. Make sure to pack lots of food and water and any other gear you would need incase of an emergency. The trail starts at the Caineville Butte and continues to Goblin Valley. While on the trail you can expect some rocky areas, a water crossing, and a steep decent into the Goblin Valley area at the end of the trail.
Final Thoughts
If you're looking for a true overland experience where you can camp in scenic areas while also relying on everything you pack in your vehicle than this is the first trail we would recommend to you. There is nothing quite like this area anywhere else in Utah and Little Wild Horse Road is a great way to experience it.
