ALL NEW TUNDRA TRAILHUNTER - WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE 4RUNNER AND TACOMA?

As you all know Toyota just recently released the new overland TRAILHUNTER trim this year in Las Vegas with the new Tundra. This trim is taking its rugged overland style to suvs and trucks and pairing it with parts from the factory, to turn your dream rig into an overlanding machine. This will give you the option of adding overland equipment from the factory, or getting a vehicle from Toyota that can take you to the outdoors right from the lot. This can range from tents to fridges to recovery gear etc. It is pretty often that you can find a Toyota with some sort of overland addition to it whether that is bigger or more aggressive tires, armor, or recovery gear.

When Lisa Materazzo, VP of Toyota Marketing, released the news at SEMA she said, “Trailhunter trucks will come straight from the factory equipped to meet the needs of overlanding enthusiasts,” and will “be developed in-house by our engineering teams and will be the most capable OEM overlanding solutions designed to meet Toyota’s legendary quality, durability, and reliability standards.”

This gives people the ability to build out the perfect car for their adventures and have it come straight from the dealership! This gives you the ability to walk into any dealership sign on the dotted line and walk away with your dream rig that had everything installed by professional Toyota techs as well as have everything warrantied from Toyota as well.

It is not confirmed what other vehicles this trim level will come to, but just like how TRD off road and Pro trim levels have made their way around to other vehicles, it is safe to assume Toyota will begin doing this for other vehicles as well. So whether you choose a Tundra, 4Runner, Tacoma or even your Rav4 or Sequoia you should be able to expect the Trailhunter trim to be available whatever you choose.
