Crafted from American 3/16 Steel. The fuel tank skid plate is 100% bolt-on and is installed with zero modification to your truck. Using a combination of factory hardware and grade 8 hardware for high-quality fit.
Requires TRD Off-Road tank straps. If you 05+ Tacoma does not have these straps, you can buy them right here!

This skid plate is a great fit and so much better than the plastic OEM! I opted for aluminum to save weight. It went on with no fuss.

Valuable protection for your gas tank & peace of mind.

I purchased the raw steel version for my 2019 Tacoma SR5 since it was not equipped with a skid from the factory so I also had to purchase some aftermarket tank straps as well as 4 each, M8x1.25 hex nuts & lock washers. The skid itself was a great value (bought it on sale with free shipping). In hindsight, I wish I spent the extra $40.00 for the aluminum to save some weight, but regardless, the steel version is well constructed & super thick. Installation is straight-forward once you install the tank straps (which was super easy). Can be installed by one person using a floor jack to help guide the skid plate to its final position, but having a second set of hands makes the job even easier (I recruited my son to help me). Takes about an hour or so from start to finish (take your time). Make sure you watch some YouTube videos regarding "gas tank skid installation" before you do your own. And make sure your tank is at least 1/2 empty. My only "gripe" is that I wish it had a front angled plate like some other skids I've seen. Maybe Cali Raised can make an add-on/bolt-on plate for this skid (It could slide on the angled front of the skid & bolt to the frame in front of the tank). I would definitely buy one if they made one (hint, hint). Other than that, it's the best skid for the price especially since my Taco didn't come with one. And no lead time. I received mine roughly under 2 weeks.
