Lamin-X Door Handle Cup Paint Protection Review: Update

This is an updated review of the Lamin-X Door Handle Cup Paint Protection. I had previously ordered this and applied it but wasn’t completely satisfied with the outcome of my work. Completely my fault and not Tacoma Lifestyle’s, nor Lamin-X’s. I wasn’t as patient with the portion of the door cup that is most contoured. Being that this isn’t an expensive item, I reordered it and reapplied them when they came. Came out much better this time! Just a heads up, if you’re not satisfied with how they come out after application, you can use a heat gun to repair the areas that have air pockets in them. Simply heat the area that needs repair, slowly lift the film, and mist the backing with the included mini water spray bottle. Then, using your fingers, slowly apply the film as you go. With some patience, it will come out near perfect.

Maybe it’s just me…

The product itself seems high quality, but install was quite difficult. Of the four decals included in the package, only two of them were successfully applied. The others were bubbling and peeling after the install, so I pulled them off. Perhaps I’m just a moderately civilized gorilla who doesn’t possess the dexterity needed to successfully apply such a product…
