Get rid of those yellow license plate lights and upgrade to the Tacoma Lifestyle LED license plate lights. A complete conversion kit with all new housing with LED lights that project a vibrant cool white color.

United StatesFirst of all, totally recommend these. I got mine for a Tacoma 2009 (2nd Gen). Chose the "WHITE LED W/ RED ACCENT LIGHT" option. Here's my suggestion: fill the inside of the LED housing with clear resin. Why? well, 1st order arrives, everything works. Light rain and the "white" light went out (It's more like blueish). The tacoma lifestyle team were super responsive and sent me a replacement. I was already thinking long term. What if I go to the car wash? what if it rains again? what if the humidity is just super high (I live in North Carolina). Not sure on what the outcome was going to be so I took the risk. Bought a 4 star clear resin epoxy mix from Amazon. Filled the gaps, making sure it covers all the electronics. Left some space for the light fixture to fit in. After rainy days and multiple visits to the car wash, I still have my leds working. Though on putting it out there and hope this helps somebody else. Check the pics. You can see that with the epoxy in place there's almost no light diffusing. I do not mind at all. I would prefer a more close to white LED. But still 5 star. Thanks!
