The light gives significantly more white output for lighting up my back bed, and the F1 style flash sequence is an awesome safety feature.
However, this has been my most difficult upgrade so far, not because it is complicated, but because it is difficult to get to the nuts for removing the old one (10mm) and reinstalling this one (8mm or 5/16"). I recommend using a 5/16" magnetic nut driver for installing the new nuts. The shaft they go on is deeper in the double wall recess of the cab roof than the OEM was. The primary reason for the installation difficulty is a Toyota design issue, it is not due to any design flaw of this replacement light.
The F1 flash switch was wired in reverse on my mine. It works, but in the OFF position versus the ON position. Tacoma Lifestyle offered to send me a replacement, but I did not want to repeat the installation hassle.
Bit of a warning, be very careful removing the black trim bezel around your OEM light. A replacement does not come with the new light. I was not so careful because the installation video said discard. You need to complete the install, but mine cracked on top near the mid-point. So far, I am having no luck finding a replacement from any supplier to include Toyota, Keystone, etc.
